Council of God-2
Supernatural World View of the Bible
God's original council His supernatural family. The Father has taken His place in the council account as we have seen. He (the Father) is supreme over the lesser gods He has created.
God wants an earthly family
Gen. 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Then God (heavenly Father)...

If we believe this writing the holy scripture we call the Bible as inspired, we believe God decided and these are God's decisions. We see here that God prompted individuals to produce these scriptures to provide edification to live by.
So again: What did God want according to scripture. He wanted an earthly family along with a heavenly family forever.
What was Eden
God's earthly home, Gen. 2:2-25. It was perfect.
Superior to the rest of the earth.
Eden = a garden and a mountain.
Garden and Mountain
1. The most wonderful environment and remote environment.
2. Where God is, His family is – in this case, before humanity creation was His (Fathers) supernatural family.
3. They are God's audience for His momentous decision. Gen. 1: 26-27 God to create man in His own image.
The Image: criteria
1. Man and women
2. Equally His possession
3. Distinct from all other earthly creatures
4. Neither incremental nor partial
5. Passed on generation-ally, to reproduce. Gen. 5:1-3; 9:6
What fails this criteria?
1. Consciousness
2. Sentience
3. Intelligence/rationality
4. Emotions
5. Soul - spirit Gen. 2:7; Gen. 1:21
6. Conscience/ sense of morality
7. Communication
Why?
1. Cannot be said to be present, equally among all human beings.
2. Cannot be said to be present, actually among all human beings.
3. (Some) are not unique to humankind = brain function.
So what is the image?
1. So God the Father created man in His own image.
2. Functional vs. qualitative.
3. Let us lesser gods, the Father asking the supernatural family to support Him in creating human kind AS our image – describes functional Gen. 1:26 to be our (heavenly family) imager on earth – describes qualitative gen. 1:27. We see here that the supernatural family is in His image as well.
What does imaging mean?
1. a status = reputation
2. verb rather than noun
3. Images = God's proxies, agents on earth.
4. Status/representative is behind one of the 10 commandments Exo. 20:7
Imaging example:
Jesus
2 Cor. 4:4 Glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Rom. 8:29 Be conformed to the image of His Son.
1 The. 3:1-3 We will ultimately be like Jesus.
2 Cor. 3:18 Transform into the same image from one degree of glory to another.
2 Tim. 2:19 Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.
